Commercialisé sous le nom de "Ma Mail" --un jeu de mots sur le nom de "ma-mé" qui signifie "fève" en japonais--, ce gadget peut être utilisé comme "une nouvelle forme de carte de voeux pour confier ses sentiments à ceux qu'on aime", explique Takara dans un communiqué.

Un autre géant du jouet nippon, Tomy, propose sa propre version de la fève épistolaire, cachée dans un faux oeuf blanc en calcium et qui "éclot" quelques heures après avoir été placée dans l'eau.

"On a le plaisir de la surprise puisque l'on ignore le message jusqu'à ce que la fève s'ouvre", vante Tomy.

Certains messages sont carrément en français, langage romantique par excellence au Japon, comme "Avec toi !" ou "C'est la vie !".

Takara et Tomy ont chacun pour objectif de vendre un million de ces plantes pendant l'année de lancement.

Le "Ma Mail" coûte entre 700 et 800 yens (entre 5 et 6 euros)."
