oops, I thought I already said something earlier, but I might as well say it now... very impressive backstory! I do like how it's been incorporated to the time-period of the main story, and in a way I wasn't expecting. I almost always assume that folks playing American soldiers in here would either pick the Civil War (which would have ended almost 30 years prior to 1895) or the various Indian conflicts and campaigns (the majority of which ended with the Wounded Knee Massacre in 1890). I honestly wasn't expecting the Franco-Dahomean wars to be cited at all. Good on you for surprsing this amateur historian (read: "hangs around Wikipedia too much").

Hmm, wonder if someone could open a thread just for all the soldiers we have on this board... I know we have at least three or four, if my memory's right...

I thank you for that. I'm glad to know that you like it. I also like your idea on a forum for the soldiers of Bon Bon. Something like that would probably have some cool results
