Which colors do you like in Furry artwork?

Perhaps. I'll see how it looks once I've finished drawing it (if I finish drawing it) before I decide. At least there is some colour to him other than his eyes, but it's a detail I haven't mentioned before and that often goes unnoticed - he has a red heart tattooed to the back of his neck. Though.. actually.. thinking about it.. when I switched from all-black to black, white and silver, I think I got rid of the tattoo. Hrm. Still a lot of decisions for me to make.

Variety helps. Lets face it, everyone would like their character to have something distinguishing or "original" about themselves. I fall into the group of black cats, but having come from the style of Bucky O'Hare, I don't have to worry about too much of that. The only problem I run into is when its only a sketch and they mistake me for the more popular Jenny from the series.

I thought Crimson's eyes looked a bit more purple than red.

i maginified on your avatar and its purple... im not an artist but i know my colors and thats pretty purple.

It's because of the size of the avatar. In the actual image, on the site, you can see more easily. The bit that looks purple to us is that colour because it's shaded. In fact, it looks to me like it's actually the pupil. The iris is red.

Well, when you look at it from my point of view - and I'm sure most here would agree - it's not about the avatar at all. That's just an added bonus. We didn't join the site just to get an avatar. Not saying that you are, mind.

As far as colors, as Mystic put in another thread, I'm a sucker for Black, Purple, with a bit of Gold trim. I'm a fan of darker colors and shades, such as the works done by Herisheft. Dark colors and schemes with very bright highlights that seem to glow like neon lights.

Though, contrasting colors, such as those of Toonaxe, are quite lovely as well.

I must apologize for how much I took to reply, Miss.

Well, you got it right since I'm a azure "lizard" with yellow scales on my chest, green eyes and red scratches under each eye.

First, I started with blue. A pastel azure that would look smooth and fresh, something to tie myself with the Water, the element I like the most. Second, a shiny scaley belly. I always thought yellow and blue mix good together... just my tastes tho *chuckles softly* Since the complementary color of blue is orange - but I liked orange less - I went for a shiny yellow, something not too intense, again, I chose a softer hue of such a colour. In the end... I always wanted to have green eyes IRL, so why not on my fursona??? And red scratches to help such a green to "pop out".
