Sun and palm trees. How nice is that? Although there has been a touch of spring in the air in the south of England today. No oranges though.

I last saw oranges growing on trees in the Forum in Rome. So here's to the memory of the Pope. A man who did many fine things and also gave the Romans a great taste for Vodka! Vodka with sorbet, vodka with pasta and my favourite: the Vodka Imperial cocktail at the Grand Hotel: a whole bottle of vodka frozen into a block of ice embedded with wild flowers and then decanted into a jug of tropical fruit. !t cost £75 in 1990!

Have a great time!

Hi Martina, Hi Guys,

I'm back home now. Sorry no updates for the past few days. My 3G card broke and in trying to fix it I managed to wipe all the settings. I'll post some more pics tomorrow when I've sorted them out. And I'll see you all at Martina's ACH show tonight Razz

Adiós España !

Ok Seville. Yeah I suppose it depends where you go. In Ibiza they all speak English and even have fish and chip shops with the prices in Sterling Laughing Not that I've ever been there it sounds dreadful Sad

OK thanks for the warning I won't try the oranges. They look so tempting though ...

I have been to Ibiza, and yep it is pretty bad Confused

Don't feel bad, marcus, that's pretty much the same kind of weather we're having here in Vancouver. So much for the feeling of spring in the air. Sad

True be that, brotha man. Now if only I could convince Martina to come for a visit so I can show her all the beautiful sights. Of course it would all pale in comparison to her gorgeous radiance.

In a word, nuh-uh. Would be better if you could manage to get here in early September.

Hi Martina, Hi guys,

Later than advertised due to technical difficulties, here are some more pics of Valencia:

This is the Marquis of Dos Aguas Palace:
http://usera.imagecave.com/therealmarcus/Valencia/Valencia_10.jpg

These futuristic buildings are part of a new complex called the City of Arts and Science:

http://usera.imagecave.com/therealmarcus/Valencia/Valencia_13.jpg
http://usera.imagecave.com/therealmarcus/Valencia/Valencia_14.jpg

This parade was on my last day and was part of celebrations to commemorate the canonisation of St Vincent Ferrer (the same day I read the Pope had died).

No I didn't go inside. The queues were too long and as always the day was too short Sad It's supposed to eventually house an exhibition of the history of the universe. I think they will need to update it each time Stephen Hawking has a brainwave Laughing
