no really what you think of the movies today now?
theres Total Recall remake coming out
I saw the trailer it looks ok, but it doesn't give me that
"I can't wait" feeling
The Hobbit might be good
but alot of trailers now and then are like.. "meh" to ok...
oh gawd the The Three Stooges film that looks bad by the trailer... _________________ My Fursona http://forums.pleasurebonbon.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=100410#100410

I would touch the Total Recall remake with a 10 foot pole and I haven't even seen the trailer. I don't want to see the trailer. There is no reason for it to be remade. Three Stooges? Not going there. Comedy these days is poor at best, half the time. ESPECIALLY when trying to "revive" an old classic. Decent, well put together comedy is rare these days cos very few people have any semblence of a decent sense of humour.
Spider-Man remake? No way. Not touching that, either. There was nothing wrong with Spiderman. Why remake it? Especially this soon.
Dredd? Uh-uh. No way. Stallone is the one and only Judge Dredd. No other will ever fill those shoes and anyone who tries should be shot on the spot.
Some movies just should not be touched and left as they are. It only serves to show that people can't think up their own shit.
The Hobbit, if that movie is anywhere BELOW excellent, AT THE VERY LEAST, Peter Jackson should be shot. The LotR movies were fantastically done and having read The Hobbit, I will be sorely disappointed if he cannot do an equally good job with those movies. _________________

Honestly, I cannot really see any movies these days that are completely original anymore. All the movies seen are either remakes, or continuations of said movies. The point is that movies these days don't take alot of 'real' acting since people rely on the CGI to wow people into watching it. The 90's movies were the best because it had a little of the best of both worlds. _________________

I'm definitely looking forward to The Hobbit (that's pretty much a gimme) as well as The Avengers (hell, I've been geared up for that one since the first Iron Man!), and I'm willing to give Total Recall a shot (it's a re-imagining from the original Philip K. Dick story, not a remake of the Arnold Schwarzenegger classic, so that's one plus on its side).
Still, I think the two movies I'm most looking forward to are not major blockbusters, but smaller releases:
*Bully, an independent documentary about school bullying that caused some controversy recently when the MPAA (the ratings board in the U.S.) gave it an R rating, which the producers challenged as they felt it warranted a lower rating.
Trailer: http://youtu.be/W1g9RV9OKhg
*The Raid: Redemption, an Indonesian action-crime film that's been getting a healthy buzz lately.
U.S. trailer: http://youtu.be/PkULMOFpuCo

I have to say the Hobbit, The Avengers, and three stooges I want to see. The Raid looks good also. Total Recall, I need to see another trailer that shows just a little bit more. Then I'll give my opinion on it. Rise of the Guardians looks like a fun family movie. MIB 3 looks good, liked the first two. Also want to see Battleship. _________________ I am what I am and proud to be who I am.

The Avengers had better be a bloody good movie. Joss Whedon is doing it! _________________

I am honestly holding out for another AVP or Alien movie. Some say that Prometheus is some kind of prequel, but I seriously find that to be BS. My dad claims that there is one scene that looks strangely like the Jockey ship from the first movie. _________________

Prometheus IS the pregquel to the Alien movies. This I assure you 1.000.000.000%. As for a sequel, there is one going ot be released, but it is a game. Colonial Marines, believe it is called.
And if you don't believe me about Prometheus, http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1446714/ check out some of the trailers for yourself. Hell, it's even done by Ridley Scott. _________________

All the previews have been really vague though. I'll have to wait till it comes out and watch it. _________________

Granted, it's not exactly stated. But, there are points in the trailers that point to the original Alien. I'm guessing that it's not actually going to be directly centered around the aliens, like the other 4 movies, but that they will be more of an... additional portion of the movie. Kind of like what The Hobbit is to the Lord of the Rings. Know what I mean?
Or, they are deliberately being vague for a more "blow your mind" reason. If it was advertised that Prometheus is 5th Alien movie, people might feel less intrueged, "Oh, another Alien movie. Yeah, I'll go check it out." But with this approach, the responce would be more like "This looks like a cool movie. HOLY SHIT! Alien prequel, where did that come from?! Sweeeeeeet."
Though, considering that Prometheus is the first of 5 Alien movies to not actually include "Alien" in the title, I'm more inclined to believe it is my first thought and that the Aliens aren't actually the central focus of the movie. But, it really could be either. _________________

Silvador is right, Prometheus is supposed to be set before the first Alien film, but centered around different alien entities than the xenomorphs from the Aliens franchise. It is also supposed to explain more about the "Space Jockey" creature seen in the first movie.
Of course, Ridley Scott has been really secretive about this movie, and has gone back and forth numerous times in interviews about whether Prometheus is a prequel or just a related side-story to the Alien franchise. _________________ Johnny's Fanfics (including Sureshot! A Bon Bon Tale)

The entertainment value I'm guessing. Hell even in RE:Extinction, they tried doing that with the zombies to domesticate them so that humans could roam the surface again. _________________

Well the Xmen movie series was nothin
but a Wolverine series to me, that what it felt like to me,
I like Wolverine but everyone else was getting way less screen time
and Hugh Jackman is getting all of it,
then they actully made a Wolverine film
mostly it's all about him, when I watch all about him
in Xmen 1, 2 and 3 already. _________________ My Fursona http://forums.pleasurebonbon.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=100410#100410

lol short terms the Xmen movie series felt like Wolverine movie series.
they don't show much of anyone else like how
the Xmen cartoons did
the films just focus on Wolverine
making it feel like "Wolverine and the X-Men",
not "X-Men" the movie. _________________ My Fursona http://forums.pleasurebonbon.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=100410#100410

Rune, I have something to show you...
http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi2433000217/
Watch it. Absorb it. Now let me point one major thing out... Wayland Industries! WaylandYutani! If you tell me Prometheus is NOT connected to the Alien saga after watching that trailer, I'ma slap you silly. _________________

Prometheus is a prequel to the alien series. It's purpose is to explain where the aliens came from. While the studio, producers and director do not say this out right, it is part of the trilogy. Only series of movies to ever scare the hell out of me, all the rest don't (except Apollo 18, wow). |
