Just a couple character ideas for the new JB from Ireland. These are taken from Irish mythology and with a bit of work should fit right into the Justice Babe reality.

Scathach: 'She Who Strikes Fear'. The Irish Goddess of martial arts, she was the destroyer aspect of the Dark Goddess. She was a great sword warrior and instructor, and is associated with the Isle of Skye. She was known to have been the teacher of the great hero Cúchulainn. She was also the patroness of martial arts, prophecy, blacksmiths and magic.

Morrighan: The Celtic goddess of war and death who could take the shape of a crow or raven. She is associated with the sometimes frightening aspects of female energy, and is wife to Dagda. As one aspect of the Celtic triple goddess, Morrigan is seen washing bloody laundry prior to battle by those destined to die.

Macha: magickal symbol of dominance over males (as in the Curse of Macha), overcoming enemies, the triple-goddess (as mother and crone), destructive magick, sheer physical force, shape-shifters, and banishing. She may be called upon in magick and ritual for help in any of these areas, but caution is advised. Above all, Macha is a dark goddess, and Her softer side has been suppressed over the centuries to almost non-existence.

Medb: goddess of Intoxication. She presided over all functions involving the consuming of intoxicating substances such as alcohol, mushrooms, intoxicating herbs such as hemp and all things which would produce a state of transcendence.
( Medb could really help take the JB parties to a new level.)

Kewl. Grist for the mill. And kudos for doing some research. We're all about quality here, you know. (Mmmm. Quaaality.) Maybe the neatest thing: you didn't even need to go the leprechaun route here.

Dunno 'bout y'all, but "Scathach" makes me want to clear my throat every time I say it. And Morrighan's a bit of a downer, what with the bloody laundry and death and all... (How close are Celtic and Irish cultures anyway?)

Macha and Medb seem promising. Medb especially.

Other stuff I've found:

Aine - fairy queen.

Boann - goddess of fertility and the sea, symbolized by a sacred white cow (really).

Brigit - sort of an Irish Athena or Hecate. Goddess of smiths, bards, doctors. Symbol is a white swan.

Cliodhna - supernatural entity who lured men away for sex. (Now we're talking!) Basically an Irish siren; they had an irresistable call. Sometimes appears as a wren (in Ireland, the "druid's bird"). So this isn't a single being, but more of a species.

Daughters of Catalin - Badb, Macha, Anand. Ferocious battle spirits.

Leanhaun Shee - kind of fairy that would look for men to love them. If you refused, she became your slave. If you consented, it goes the other way, and you'd slowly weaken until dead, unless you found someone to replace you.

Other fodder for the inspiration: when you think Ireland, think banshees, fairies, firbolgs, fomorians, and witches. Banshees are the most well-known kind of female fairy (on the male side would be leprechauns). There's apparently tons of different fairies. Personally, I'd love to see a fairy or derivation thereof as our new lady. A goddess would be too far removed from the world; we already have WB for that.
