I must admit- City of Heroes is definitely fun and addictive.

I had doubts at first about the game holding my attention but it's been really fun so far. The game lacks a few things that are related to virtual property or virtual unique accumulations. Overall gameplay is fantastic! Especially if you're a big comic book super heroes fan and have always wanted to experience being a super hero.

One of the most entertaining bit is seeing super hero chicks running around in skimpy outfits and miniskirts.

I highly recommend getting this game! Just be prepared to get your life consumed. Smile

We Mac users do not have City of Heroes, so I cannot participate in this thread.

On another note, can you give us an idea what is coming soon Jeff? Hollow and I have mentioned more than a few times our concern about updates. Maybe it would help to put us in the picture if you would let us know what plans you have for JB and what kind of time table you are working with. You mentioned before that the BOTM pictorial is a drag for you and that it slows down your other JB work. You have been putting out Comic pages more or less regularly. What kind of pace would you like to set? Are comic pages harder to produce than gallery pinups? I really enjoy your pinups. They allow you to showcase babes of your choice rather than the BOTM winner. Do you have any plans for updating the Casino girls or the virtual cards or solitaire puzzles? Are you thinking of doing a movie like you teased us with over at Battlechix? Maybe you could take a poll asking which JBabes should appear in the movie. Please keep JB going strong. Battlechix is nice but JB is why I stay a customer. Would it be foolish or selfish of me to hope that JB could be as regular and dependable as Battlechix?

Sent in more comic pages, so our story pace is going to start picking up. The site has always been a work in finding what members want, and it seems that while some people have been asking for more hardcore action, what gets the most response is actually character development and a solid story. While a situation that sets up a group orgy leads to a lot of pretty pictures of naked heroines, it doesn't leave a lot of room for plot. I think things need to stay adult-oriented, and show readers things that the mainstream comic companies tease readers with but don't show, but I'm starting to lean toward a more character development. We've settled into a core group for the main characters in the comics, but they feel a little two-dimensional as comic book porn stars. Would you guys like to see more characterization, and not just straight "action" all the time?

Oh yeah, Dark Kicker makes her appearance on the new pages. Dark Wonder hasn't shown up yet!

Glad to hear of the pipeline. For a while I was getting worried. We've seen 7 new things in the last 9 days, and 17 (unless I miscounted) updates in the last 40. Meanwhile, Battlechix is getting a little over one per day. And I pay 1.5 times as much here as there.

Which is not to say pages per day should be the sole metric. It's one, sure, but I wouldn't want to see an overload of simple desktops, say, just to maintain the pace. If producing a page of the same quality as the comics so far is physically impossible to do in 1/2 (and in the future, perhaps 1/3) of a working day, then the pace must slow somewhat, and that's sad, but necessary.

Which brings me to the issue of plot vs. action. I think I can safely say no one wants just one or the other. I lean, slightly, toward the latter, because I see this site sort of like Justice League meets Leisure Suit Larry. (Speaking of which, has anyone seen that desktop of Zena Zepplins?? Gaaah.) It's parody, it's humor, it's sex. I'd have to say I like the plot and character development because it "leavens" the sex part. You can't just dive right in; stuff needs a setup. But too much plot, and it starts to feel like some stretches of X-Men I remember from years back, when it was, like, 6 straight months of Mutant Angst.

One final point. I've been kinda likin' the Battlemate feature on Battlechix, for two reasons. One, the pacing of one or two a day at most, spread throughout the month, turned out to be nicer than waiting a whole week for the whole thing all at once. (This is a shame, as I -loved- seeing the first one with Voodoo Child sprung suddenly on the site. Maybe someday y'all can hire a second artist?) Two, if you find yourself with several pages of plot in the comics in order to get to the good stuff, the BotM becomes a second venue to tide people over.

And of course, if there's an idea for a shot that wouldn't fit the current BotM, there's always the total freedom of the pinup gallery.

I should amend the above a little. Another thing I like about the character development is the character differentiation. Each girl has a different personality (one thing I liked reading in the early BotMs). Flasher's playful; Broad's a boy scout; Supes is haughty; Kicker's cool; etc. There are some obvious fantasies one can create from these. =)

I think one of the things that makes porn clips like the Paris Hilton tape, or Janet Jackson's boob exposure so fascinating to people, is that the people are known for who they are, and it's something you're not supposed to see them doing. For years, comic girls have been captured by villains, or knocked out, and it has to cross the bad guys minds to at least take a peek at the goods, if not full on helping themselves to a heaping portion of heroine in peril. When you know who the characters are, it makes it more exciting. IMHO.
